The Samsung NX1 has an impressive spec sheet, including a 28.2-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and 15-frame-per-second continuous shooting. The camera also comes with a 3-inch Super AMOLED articulating screen and a 1366 x 758 resolution electronic viewfinder.
In addition to NFC and Wi-Fi capabilities, the NX1 is also carrying Samsung's newest autofocus system which can purportedly detect as many as 205 phase points covering 90 percent of the frame.
What better way to promote the 4K ultra-high def recording capabilities of a consumer camera than to shoot an entire movie with it?
According to reports, Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be using the 4k-capable NX1 to shoot a movie called In a City. The resulting footage will then be broadcast across all of Samsung's social media channels including YouTube and Facebook.
Fans of Gordon-Levitt can catch his online opus starting December 11. Fans of Samsung can expect the NX1 to become available soon after, with an attached sticker price of $1,500 for the stripped-down version and somewhere in the neighborhood of $2,800 for a package including a grip, external charger, spare battery, and a 16-50mm lens
