Car Reviews : Ferrari FXX K (2015) Design and Performance

The 2015 Ferrari FXX K is a new hybrid supercar, a successor to the 2014 LaFerrari. It is a powerful vehicle, delivering up to 1050 hp, and characterized by modern and aggressive design. Keep reading to learn more details.

Previously known as the 2015 LaFerrari XX, the 2015 Ferrari FXX K looks so futuristic and aggressive. In the photo above you will notice the massive front splitter and large air intakes, as well as the new vented hood. Front fenders are also larger. LED headlights are now barely visible, they look like two tiny strips. On the back, everything has been changed. There is a massive diffuser, much larger round exhaust tips and tiny taillights. Standard spoiler wing was replaced by two smaller vertical fins. Together with many air inlets and outlets, all this has a positive impact on aerodynamics.

Inside, the 2015 Ferrari FXX K is equipped with the latest race-specific accessories, ditching all the luxury features. There are new bolster seats, wrapped in black material with red accents and stitching. Between them you can find a revised center console with many knobs and buttons, used for controlling various features. The Formula-inspired steering wheel also come with some buttons and paddle shifters. Behind it is a digital instrument cluster. Dashboard, doors, as well as the already mentioned steering wheel, feature some carbon-fiber inserts.

Hybrid Engine and Performance

The 2015 Ferrari FXX K Hybrid is powered by a combination of a 6.3-liter V-12 gasoline engine and electric motor. This engine produces 860 hp, while the electric motor generates 190 hp. Total output of this upgraded hybrid system, which is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, is 1050 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque. All this power should be good for about 2.7 seconds of 0-to-60 sprint time. Estimated top speed is rated at 217 mph.
There are also several driving modes that the driver can choose from. If you want the best performance, select the Qualify mode. The Long Run mode, as its name suggests, is good for longer distances. The Manual Boost mode will deliver maximum torque instantly. If you want to charge your car’s battery, then select the last mode, Fast Charge.
