Jaguar recently announced the end of production
for the XK and not surprisingly it has released a special edition model
to give the two-door a proper send-off. With only 50 copies headed to
the U.S., the 2015 Jaguar XK Final Fifty Limited Edition will be rare
and we wouldn’t be surprised if all are already spoken for.Jaguar will offer the XK Final Fifty in 25
coupes and 25 convertibles. All will be painted in Ultimate Black paint
and will get the louvered hood from the XKR-S GT.
Under the hood, however, will be the 5.0-liter V-8 that makes 510 hp
and 461 lb-ft of torque. The 50 limited XKs will also feature the
Performance Pack and Dynamic Pack, which adds a long list of upgrades
including an aero kit, an increased top speed of 174 mph (155 mph is
standard), an adaptive suspension system, 20-inch forged wheels, and
sport seats.
Other visual touches include door sills marked
with “XK Final Fifty” badges and a Final Fifty plague with the signature
of Ian Callum, Jaguar’s design boss.
The 2015 XK Final Fifty will reach showrooms
this fall, officially marking the end of the current-gen 2+2, which has
been on sale since 2007. That said, a successor is rumored to arrive in
2017 and could possibly grow in size. The size increase will further
differentiate the new model from the recently launched F-Type coupe and convertible.
